Overview

This guide covers all the features and functionality available in ChameleonSwap. Learn how to navigate the interface, swap tokens, manage your portfolio, and explore available pools.

Token Swapping

The core feature of ChameleonSwap is token swapping. The platform uses an aggregator to find the best routes across multiple liquidity sources.

Swap Interface

The swap interface is located on the main page (/swap) and consists of:

From Token

Select the token you want to swap from. Click to open the token selector.

To Token

Select the token you want to receive. Click to open the token selector.

Selecting Tokens

Open Token Selector

Click on either the “From” or “To” token field to open the token selector modal.

Browse or Search

You can:
  • Browse recommended tokens (HYPE, USDC, kHYPE)
  • Search by token name or symbol
  • Search by contract address
  • View your watchlist (starred tokens)

View Token Details

Each token shows:
  • Token symbol and name
  • Current price (if available)
  • Price change (24h)
  • Your balance (if connected)

Select Token

Click on a token to select it. The modal will close and the token will appear in the swap interface.
You can star tokens to add them to your watchlist for quick access. Click the star icon next to any token in the selector.

Entering Amounts

Enter From Amount

Type the amount you want to swap in the “From” field. You can:
  • Type a specific amount
  • Click “Max” to use your entire balance
  • The “To” amount will update automatically based on current rates

Review Exchange Rate

The interface shows:
  • Exchange rate between tokens
  • Estimated amount you’ll receive
  • Price impact (if significant)
  • Route information (which pools will be used)

Adjust Amount

You can modify the amount at any time. The “To” amount will recalculate automatically.

Flipping Tokens

You can quickly reverse the swap direction by clicking the flip icon (↕️) between the “From” and “To” fields. This will:
  • Swap the tokens
  • Reverse the amounts
  • Recalculate the exchange rate

Swap Settings

Click the settings icon (⚙️) to adjust transaction parameters:
Slippage is the maximum price movement you’ll accept during the swap.Preset Options:
  • 0.1% - Very tight (may fail on volatile pairs)
  • 0.5% - Default (recommended for most swaps)
  • 1.0% - Loose (better for volatile pairs)
Custom Slippage:
  • Enter any value between 0% and 50%
  • Higher slippage protects against transaction failures but may result in less favorable rates
Slippage above 5% shows a warning. Very high slippage may expose you to front-running risks.
The maximum time your transaction can be pending before it automatically reverts.Default: 20 minutesRange: 1 minute to 72 hours (4320 minutes)
If your transaction takes longer than the deadline, it will fail and you won’t lose any funds. You can simply try again.

Executing a Swap

Review Swap Details

Before executing, check:
  • Exchange rate looks correct
  • You have sufficient balance
  • Gas fees are acceptable
  • Route information (if displayed)

Approve Token (First Time)

For your first swap with a new token, you need to approve it:
  1. Click “Approve [Token Name]”
  2. Confirm the approval transaction in your wallet
  3. Wait for confirmation (usually a few seconds)
  4. The button will change to “Swap”

Execute Swap

Once approved (or if already approved):
  1. Click the “Swap” button
  2. Review transaction details in your wallet popup
  3. Confirm the transaction
  4. Wait for blockchain confirmation

Transaction Status

You’ll see:
  • Loading state while transaction is pending
  • Success notification when complete
  • Error message if transaction fails
  • Transaction hash for tracking on block explorer

Route Information

ChameleonSwap uses an aggregator that finds the best swap routes. The route may:
  • Use a single liquidity pool (direct swap)
  • Use multiple pools (multi-hop swap)
  • Optimize for best price and lowest gas costs
Route information is displayed when available. Multi-hop swaps may have slightly higher gas costs but often provide better rates.
The ChameleonSwap interface includes a navigation bar at the top with easy access to all features. The navigation bar contains:

Manage your referral code and invite friends

Points Widget

When your wallet is connected, you’ll see a points widget in the navigation bar showing:
  • Your total points balance
  • Updates automatically after swaps
  • Click to navigate to the Points page
The points widget only appears when your wallet is connected and you have points.

Wallet Connection

The Connect Wallet button in the top right:
  • Shows “Connect” when wallet is not connected
  • Shows your address (shortened) when connected
  • Click to open wallet modal for account management
  • Displays “Wrong Network” if not on HyperEVM

Portfolio

The Portfolio page (/portfolio) shows your liquidity positions and token balances.

Accessing Portfolio

Navigate to Portfolio from the main menu (if available) or directly at /portfolio.

Portfolio Features

View all your active liquidity positions:
  • Token pairs you’ve provided liquidity for
  • Amount of each token in the position
  • Total value locked (TVL)
  • Unrealized gains/losses
For each position, you can:
  • View position details
  • Add more liquidity
  • Remove liquidity
  • See historical performance
View balances for all tokens in your wallet:
  • Token name and symbol
  • Balance amount
  • USD value (if price available)
  • Price change (24h)
Portfolio features require a connected wallet. Connect your wallet to view your positions and balances.

Explorer

The Explorer page (/explorer) lets you discover and explore all available liquidity pools.

Accessing Explorer

Navigate to Explorer from the main menu (if available) or directly at /explorer.

Explorer Features

Browse all available liquidity pools:
  • Token pairs in each pool
  • Total value locked (TVL)
  • 24-hour volume
  • 24-hour fees
  • Annual percentage rate (APR)
Each pool shows:
  • Token pair (e.g., HYPE/USDC)
  • Protocol version (V2)
  • Current reserves
  • Pool address
From the Explorer, you can:
  • View pool details
  • Add liquidity to a pool
  • See pool statistics
  • Track pool performance

Pool Statistics

The Explorer displays aggregate statistics:
  • Total Pools - Number of active pools
  • Protocol Version - Current version (V2)
  • Total TVL - Combined value locked across all pools
  • 24h Volume - Total trading volume in the last 24 hours

Advanced Features

Token Watchlist

Build a personalized watchlist of tokens:

Star Tokens

Click the star icon (⭐) next to any token in the token selector to add it to your watchlist.

View Watchlist

In the token selector, switch to “Watchlist” view to see only your starred tokens.

Manage Watchlist

Click the star again to remove a token from your watchlist.
Your watchlist is saved locally in your browser. It persists across sessions but is specific to the browser you’re using.

Transaction History

View your transaction history:
  • Recent swaps
  • Approval transactions
  • Liquidity additions/removals
  • Transaction status and hashes
  • Links to block explorer
Transaction history is available through your wallet or the block explorer. ChameleonSwap may display recent transactions in the interface.

Price Information

Token prices are displayed when available:
  • Current price in USD
  • 24-hour price change
  • Price charts (if integrated)
  • Historical data
Prices are for informational purposes only. Actual swap rates may vary based on liquidity and market conditions.

Tips and Best Practices

Check Gas Fees

Always ensure you have enough HYPE tokens to cover gas fees before executing transactions.

Review Routes

Check the swap route to understand which pools will be used. Multi-hop routes may have higher gas costs.

Set Appropriate Slippage

Use lower slippage for stable pairs and higher slippage for volatile pairs to avoid failed transactions.

Monitor Transactions

Keep track of your transaction status. Failed transactions don’t cost gas, but you may need to adjust settings.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure your wallet is connected
  • Check that you have sufficient balance
  • Verify you’re on the correct network (HyperEVM)
  • Try approving the token again if needed
  • Try searching by contract address
  • Ensure the token exists on HyperEVM
  • Check that you’re connected to the correct network
  • Refresh the page to reload token list
  • Increase slippage tolerance
  • Check gas fees and ensure sufficient HYPE balance
  • Verify token balances are sufficient
  • Try a smaller amount
  • Check network congestion
  • Prices update in real-time but may lag slightly
  • Check multiple sources for price verification
  • Large swaps may have price impact
  • Review the route information for multi-hop swaps
