Get started with ChameleonSwap in just a few simple steps. This guide will walk you through connecting your wallet and making your first token swap.

Launch ChameleonSwap

Open the application to get started.

Step 1: Connect Your Wallet

To use ChameleonSwap, you’ll need to connect a Web3 wallet. ChameleonSwap supports all wallets compatible with RainbowKit.

Supported Wallets

ChameleonSwap works with popular wallets including:
  • MetaMask - Browser extension and mobile app
  • WalletConnect - Connect with mobile wallets
  • Coinbase Wallet - Coinbase’s Web3 wallet
  • Rainbow - Beautiful, simple wallet
  • And many more through WalletConnect

How to Connect

Click Connect Wallet

On the ChameleonSwap homepage, click the “Connect” button in the top right corner of the navigation bar.

Select Your Wallet

A modal will appear showing available wallet options. Choose your preferred wallet from the list.

Approve Connection

Follow the prompts in your wallet to approve the connection. You may need to:
  • Sign a message to verify ownership
  • Approve the connection request

Switch to HyperEVM

If you’re on a different network, you’ll be prompted to switch to HyperEVM (Chain ID: 999). Your wallet will ask you to approve the network switch.
Make sure you’re connected to the HyperEVM network (Chain ID: 999). If you see a “Wrong Network” button, click it to switch networks automatically.

Step 2: Make Your First Swap

Once your wallet is connected, you’re ready to swap tokens!

Understanding the Swap Interface

The swap interface consists of:
  • From Token - The token you want to swap from
  • To Token - The token you want to receive
  • Amount Fields - Enter the amount you want to swap
  • Swap Button - Execute the swap transaction
  • Settings Icon - Adjust slippage tolerance and transaction deadline

Making a Swap

Select Your Tokens

Click on the token selector for the “From” field to choose the token you want to swap. Then select the “To” token you want to receive.
You can search for tokens by name or symbol in the token selector modal.

Enter Amount

Type the amount you want to swap in the “From” field. The “To” amount will be calculated automatically based on current market rates.
You can also click “Max” to use your entire balance of the selected token.

Review Swap Details

Before executing, review:
  • Exchange rate
  • Estimated gas fees
  • Minimum amount you’ll receive (considering slippage)
  • Route information (if using aggregator)

Approve Token (First Time Only)

If this is your first time swapping a specific token, you’ll need to approve it for spending. This is a one-time transaction that allows the router to use your tokens.Click “Approve [Token]” and confirm the transaction in your wallet.

Execute Swap

Once approved (or if already approved), click the “Swap” button. Review the transaction details in your wallet popup and confirm the transaction.

Wait for Confirmation

Your transaction will be submitted to the HyperEVM network. Wait for confirmation - this usually takes a few seconds. You’ll see a success notification once the swap is complete.

Swap Features

Click the arrow icon between the “From” and “To” fields to quickly swap the tokens and reverse the direction of your swap.
Click the settings icon (⚙️) to adjust:
  • Slippage Tolerance - Maximum price movement you’ll accept (default: 0.5%)
  • Transaction Deadline - Maximum time for the transaction to complete (default: 20 minutes)
Lower slippage may cause transactions to fail if prices move quickly. Higher slippage protects against failures but may result in less favorable rates.
Your token balances are displayed below each token selector. The balance updates automatically after transactions.
ChameleonSwap uses an aggregator to find the best swap routes across multiple liquidity sources. The route details show you the path your swap will take.

Getting HYPE Tokens

You’ll need HYPE tokens to pay for transaction fees (gas). You can:
  • Bridge tokens from other networks
  • Purchase HYPE on supported exchanges
  • Receive HYPE from other users
Always ensure you have enough HYPE in your wallet to cover gas fees for transactions.

Common Issues and Solutions

If your transaction fails, try:
  • Increasing slippage tolerance in settings
  • Ensuring you have enough HYPE for gas fees
  • Checking that you have sufficient token balance
  • Waiting a moment and trying again
If you see a “Wrong Network” button:
  • Click it to automatically switch to HyperEVM
  • Or manually add HyperEVM to your wallet if needed
  • Chain ID: 999
If a token doesn’t appear in the selector:
  • Try searching by contract address
  • Ensure the token exists on HyperEVM
  • Check that you’re connected to the correct network
Make sure you have:
  • Enough of the “From” token to swap
  • Sufficient HYPE for gas fees
  • Approved the token for spending (if required)
